Terms of Service

Draft for review: a licensed lawyer must review this document before Money Help launches.

The short version

  • Money Help helps you understand your money. It is not a bank, a financial advisor, a credit counselor or a law firm, and it cannot move your money.
  • Our numbers are estimates based on your bank data, your bills and information about offers. Check important details before you act on them.
  • You must be 18 or older and live in the United States to use Money Help.

What Money Help is and is not

Money Help shows your accounts, spending, bills and possible savings in plain words. It gives general information, not financial, investment, tax, legal or credit advice. It is not a bank and does not hold or move money. [Lawyer to complete.]

Who can use Money Help

You must be 18 or older, live in the United States, and use your own account. One person per account. [Lawyer to complete.]

Estimates and information from others

Balances and transactions come from your bank through Plaid. Values read from bills come from AI and must be checked by you. Offers, prices and reliability information come from public sources on the date shown and can change or be different at your address. [Lawyer to complete.]

AI features

Some features use AI (for example reading bills). AI can make mistakes; you review values before Money Help uses them. [Lawyer to complete.]

Purchase alerts are not fraud protection

Alerts are a helpful extra. Money Help sees purchases only after your bank shares them, which can take a day or more, and does not check every purchase. It cannot block cards or dispute charges. Keep your bank’s own alerts on and contact your bank quickly about any charge you don’t recognize. Your bank decides disputes. [Lawyer to complete.]

Asking for a better price

The negotiation helper suggests what you could say to a provider. You contact them and decide what to accept. Money Help does not contact companies for you, is not a law firm and does not give legal advice. Only say things that are true about your situation. [Lawyer to complete.]

Your responsibilities

Give correct information, keep your sign-in safe (two-step verification is recommended), and check offer details with the provider before you switch. [Lawyer to complete.]

Offers and other companies

When you switch to another provider, your contract is with that provider, not with Money Help. Money Help is not paid by providers for the offers shown. [Confirm before launch; lawyer to complete.]

Money Help Plus

Plus is a paid plan that renews automatically every month or year until you cancel. The price and renewal terms are shown next to the button before you agree, and we email you how to cancel. You can cancel in More → Your plan; you keep Plus until the end of the period you paid for. A free trial is offered once; we remind you before it ends. No refunds for partial periods, except where the law requires. Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. [Lawyer to complete: state automatic-renewal requirements, price changes, taxes.]

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time. [Lawyer to complete: termination, what happens to data.]

Limits of liability, disputes and governing law

[Lawyer to draft: disclaimers and limits that are enforceable for consumers, dispute resolution, governing law.]

Changes and contact

We will tell you about important changes in the app and ask you to accept them. [Contact address and company details to add.]
